1) Description

This is a quite small 1vs1 skirmish map placed on the temperate planet of Eriadu. The two factions bases are mirrored on both sides of the map not too far away - hence the name of the map. There are three ways to get to the enemy base - a direct one defended by walls and a turbo laser turret by each player, and two routes aside of the map.

Version information:

I do not consider this a Gold version, as this is my first release and I plan to improve the map (so feedback is desired, see Credits). However, the map is complete and fully playable for both sides.

Buildings (both players):

* power generator
* small base shield
* barracks
* light vehicle factories
* mining processor
* turbo laser tower
* communications array

Other objects:

* reinforcement points (2x)


2) Installation

Extract 'Critical_Distance.ted' from the downloaded zip file in the following directory (assuming you chose the default installation directory):
C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War\GameData\Data\CustomMaps
Start it via Singleplayer > Skirmish.


3) Notes:

* I refrained from placing heavy or even advanced vehicle factories due to the limited dimensions of the map
* I recommend not to enable heroes as this likely takes the match to a quick end
* Turbo laser towers cover two attack routes - so guard them carefully and rebuild them respectively after destuction


4) Known bugs

* If enabled in the skirmish menu the imperial player gets free units at game start. The Rebels do not
