-= 44:4:32 Windstorm library =-

Josh is sitting around a table with datapads and flimsiplasts everywhere. Each containing information regarding the attacks on the PBF, and the attacks the PBF made on them. All of which was completely boring. "We've lost too many people as it is, we can't be playing these games." Josh speaks to no one around and slowly stands up. "This ends now."
With a grim determination he walks over to the wall mounted communications panel and hits the ship wide notice. "This is Commodore Hawkins, I want all ships to be battle ready as soon as possible. Also, Eric Reagan please report to the library. Thank you." With that he shuts off the communications panel, and smiles hearing the running of technicians and personnel outside the door. *These are good people, I hate bringing them into a useless battle, but if we don't stop this menace then they'll just return and follow us home.* Josh walks back to his seat, picks up a datapad, and awaits the entrance of Eric Reagan.
After a few minutes of shuffling papers and datapads, Eric comes running into the library. "Sorry Boss, got stuck having to tend to things. What's up?" He moves to a seat next to Josh and is amazed at all the information on the table in front of him.
Josh just smiles, "Eric, we're going on hot. I'm planning a direct assault on Gesaril to end this once and for all. We've been playing enough games with them." Josh hands a datapad over to Eric detailing the plan.
Eric just nods and looks this over, "We have to be careful, this could result in a lot of casualties and damage to ships. Still, it's a solid plan. Let's just hope these pilots are as good as they brag."
"I have no worries about the mission, these are good people and I have faith in the crews. You are right, this does have the potential to be a disaster, but I feel we'll come out victorious."
"Alright, lets go over this stuff and see if we can exploit something." Eric seems to dive into the middle of the table looking at all the information for anything that could be useful.

-= 44:4:34 Windstorm Briefing room =-

Eric stands at the podium and sounds the general quarters alarm and the alarm for all pilots to report to the main briefing room. He hated being the one giving the briefing but he enjoyed watching the pilots settle in. He feels a pang of jealousy that he won't be out there in an X-Wing helping them, but understands that someone has to lead them, and smiles broadly at that thought.
After all the pilots enter in, he hits the button to link this briefing all over the fleet of ships, "Already ladies and Gentleman, this is it. We finally have our revenge. Our CO has been planning this for a couple days now and is completely confident in your abilities." Eric hits a button on the wall behind him to dim the lights and bring up the holographic display. "We're going back to Gesaril for a frontal assault." After the mumbles and complaints of the pilots settle he continues, "Yes, Josh is slightly insane, but he knows that you all want to go home and this is the fastest way to do it. He knows your skills in an X-Wing are unmatched by any imperial pilot, and the dedication and skill of the crews are the best in the RS. So listen up. The sooner we do this, the sooner we come back to Haven for drinks and the sooner we head back home to Greeop. "
After a few more minutes of explaining the mission and answering questions, Eric brings the lights back up. "Pilots, get a drink or two and get some shut eye, we leave in 12 hours. Dismissed!"

-=44:4:35 Windstorm bridge =-

Josh is standing in the front observation screen with his arms folded behind his back, just waiting for the blue swirl of hyperspace to end. "Reversion to normal space in 10 seconds Sir!" a voice calls out from the far end of the bridge. "Understood, all ships stand by, we're going in hot." Josh says without moving from the screen as the blue swirl stops and the stars revert to normal. "All fighters launch, and take us in to give them some cover. May the Force be with us."

I apologize for the lack of communication everyone. Work has me wound up tight. Anyway, let's get to the important stuff.

Top Gun goes to Damon Lightwind for XWing, and, wow, Licah Fox for TIE Fighter. Congrats to you both!

Mission Report Medals goto Damon for XWing, as there was no other reports, and to James Folen for TIE Fighter. Congrats to you both!

Medal of Activity goes to Gold and Red for XWing, for having over 70% reporting. Congrats there as well.

Merits and Medals, if not updated already, will be updated soon.

Now as some of you know, others may not. I will be stepping down as CO at the end of PBF 712. After that the PBF will have a couple of filler missions before the start of the next tour. If you have read any of the Fleet Commander's narrative you will know he runs the Greeop Defence Force, to which when the PBF returns home, we will become part of. In essence you will be taking orders directly from the Fleet Commander. These filler missions should only be about 3 or 4, we are trying to end the GDF missions at the same time as the VSG missions. This way, once everyone is ready, we will have a true unified tour of duty. Which means, you might be flying side by side with Ragnarok squadron, or Dagger. Which will pose as a weird problem for some of you. However, just remember fictionally you can't be in two places at once, and try to avoid writing yourself into that corner.

I want to say that it's been an honor to be your commanding officer for so long. Though I have to apologize as well, I have not made the PBF a fun place to be in my later months. I wanted to bring stability and a solid foundation to the PBF, which I have done, but I have also neglected the reason why we're here, and that is to have fun. With luck, my replacement will have that as their priority and will make this fleet the best in the RS once again. Thank you all!! (:"

The current Patriot Battle Fleet mission is:

PBF 7.11

The deadline for the current mission is:

Sunday August 26th 11:59 pm EDT

You can download the current mission at:

http://pbf.rebelsquadrons.org/missions/

Send reports with pilot files attached to:

pbfreports@yahoogroups.com

Plus your own squadron CO and/or squadron egroup.

The rules for flying the mission are:

1) You may run this mission as many times as you like but you MUST get the MISSION COMPLETE message and have a valid *.plt /*.tfr file in order to be eligible for the PBF/R2F Medal of victory. In addition, any score not accompanied by a pilot file for verification will NOT be counted by the PBF Command Staff.

2) Run the mission as "defect.xwi" ( this will place it as X-Wing X-Wing TOD 1 Mission 1 ) so that your stats will be recorded in your *.plt file. Note: TIE missions have their own Battle file, so you will also be flying tour 1 mission 1.

3) Make a new pilot file to run the mission. If you fail the mission and wish to run it again make sure to use a new pilot file instead of re-running it with the same pilot. Any pilot file found to be "unclean" will result in the score NOT being counted by the PBF Command Staff.

4) Destroying "Friendly" craft to pad ones stats is strictly prohibited. Pilot files containing "Rebel" or "Friendly" craft kills will be considered invalid.

5) You should also include a written report with your score laser/ion shots and hits, missile shots and hits and kill totals in the email. Laser padding in TIE missions is strictly forbidden and will result in a 0 score.

6) Pilot files will be manually calculated using the Official PBF Standard scoring chart for X-wing. Anyone interested in obtaining a copy of this chart, can email me to do so.

7) No individual scores will be changed after the deadline! If a report is submitted that is never received at the report address given above, it will not be added after the deadline. Neither will the PBF CO accept a late pilot file. The only thing that can be changed afterwards are errors made by the Command Staff.

8) Mail problems including undelivered mail and corrupted pilot files are not the responsibility of the PBF command staff. If your pilot file becomes corrupted and you do not include a written accounting, then your score will be counted as "0".

9) If a pilot retires from the PBF at any time during the course of an active mission after having submitted a report, his report will no longer count for his former squadron.

10) If a pilot transfers from one PBF squadron to another (such as attaining a squadron CO position) during the course of an active mission after having submitted a report, his report will now count towards the newfound squadron.

You may ask, "What is required for the reporting.

1) A valid mission file and physical report (same as normal)

2) We know some people can't report in some instances. This will not beheld against squads. If it comes to pass that you could not report for any reason, such as computer issues, you were gone...A properly written narrative will suffice for the flying report. This does not cover, "Oh, I forgot to fly" Or, "I didn't want to fly." These narratives are for the use of people who cannot fly the mission, and need another method of counting a report.

Guidelines for narratives:
The narrative needs to be more then "I got in my ship, launched, flew around, shot this and this up, went home and drank beers." A quality written narrative (Under the discretion of PBF command staff looking at reports) needs to consist of some bulk. It can be, however, a report of anything. Since by using this method of reporting, you weren't able to fly for whatever reason, the narrative DOES NOT have to be about the mission directly. You could write substantial narrative about since your hip was damaged, you stuck back to make repairs to join the second wave. Or, since you couldn't fly, you volunteered to join the rescue shuttle to help an EVA pilot. What you write about is up to you. However, we have command people watching these reports, and they need to be involved, decent reports, or they will not be counted to the squad total.

Also note: If a squad is at say 10 pilots....the 75% rule would apply to 7 pilots minimum...the 12 pilots per squadron will have no effect. The 75% and 100% requirements will be based off of the current squad roster...for those that were curious about that.

-----PBF Information-----

1) IRC---

I'd like to invite all pilots, new and old, to take part in whatever activities they have running in the Rebel Squadron's Bar and Grill, on the Undernet IRC network; #RS_Bar_and_Grill is the name of the channel. The Patriot Battle Fleet has it's own channel as well, #PBF. I spend a lot of time on these channels, and it's a good way to contact me if you have problems. It's also a good way to meet new people and gather information about the RS. Make sure you're connected to an Undernet server, and if you have trouble connecting to the Undernet, visit the Undernet homepage at:

http://www.undernet.org

To download an IRC program for Windows PCs, and also learn a lot about how IRC works, visit the homepage of the program mIRC at:
