Mission 3.02 - This week's mission is called "Pirate Bait".

The Rescue Team brought back some fairly interesting stuff from the
last mission, including one almost entirely intact computer core.
They also rescued one of the Pirates. This is extremely interesting
because he is claiming to be a deep undercover spy working for the
Alliance. His identity is being checked with Greedo's infamous
thouroughness. So far, he is who he seems to be.

More importantly than the fact of this spy's existence is that the
General has connected a piece of data from Kedrin's computers with a
small a small one from the pirate computer core, and the spy is
confirming the existence of something (we're not exactly sure what yet)
called "Star Hammer".

The General has decided that he wants to meet with the leader of this
band of pirates and acquire any information that he may have about
"Star Hammer". So to that end he is "inviting" the pirates back for a
little "heart to heart" - Greedo style.

Greedo has arranged that the final wave of B-Wings be flown in, by
droids this time so that they will present an easy target. To sweeten
the pot, the General has also arranged for an Freighter laden with a
full battery of turbolasers to arrive. Since we know that they are
aware of our actions - Greedo has learned a great many things from
Kedrin's tactics - we will make it almost irresistible to ignore by
sending out a solo Y-Wing to patrol the area.

Considering the tactics used in the last mission, we expect that the
pirate Assassin Class Corvettes will enter, launch a their compliment
of TIEs, and hyper back out. We know this to be a tactic is intended
to draw off any patrol craft while the main body of the force attacks
the pirates main target. We have no reason to expect that they will
use any different tactic this time, as it is a successful tactic when
dealing with a small defensive force, as we saw in the last mission.

However, this time we will be ready, and we will not be taking a
defensive posture. We expect the pirate main force to come after the
droid-driven B-Wings and the Turbolaser shipment. Grey will be on
standby in the hangar, and will launch seconds after that pirate force
arrives.

Your mission is to disable at least one of the Corvettes for capture.
As we know that the Corvettes will hyper out very shortly after entry,
you will have to get to there location, quickly bring down their
shields, and disable them before they can exit. After that, use the
Y-Wings deadly accurate lasers to finish off whatever TIEs they might
have launched, and then return to help defend the B-Wings. The
B-Wings are expendible, but remember that they are expensive, AND
YOURS. We'd rather not have them wasted at this time.

Our objective is to learn the whereabouts of the pirate base, so that
we may impose upon the leader for a "neighborly chat" and possibly
some tea. :)

Oh, and you may want to avoid General Greedo for the next few days. I
would suggest staying clear of any area he frequents, also.

I went to see him at his quarters last night, and the scene I happened
upon could be described as nothing less than "pandemonium". From what
I could gather, the General had decided to take it upon himself to
correct a minor plumbing problem in his main living area, and
apparently wasn't getting a quick enough response from the maintenance
personnel. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I guess things
went rather badly, as there was water spraying all over. Apparently,
the only person available, at the time, that he could find to help was
the little elderly Bothan female who runs the General's secretarial
staff, and who's quarters adjoin his own.

I arrived just in time to witness the Bothan open a panel in the lower
wall and exclaim "It's right there!" I saw the General reach in and
turn off the water while muttering something unidentifiable about
Calamarians, but by this time they were both completely soaked, as was
his living space. My particular combat instincts allowed me to take
this situation in at a glance, allowed me to deduce much of what I
didn't see, and instructed me to consider the old adage that
"discretion is the better part of valour" as an applicable axiom. I
felt that this was a very wise course of action, and beat a hasty
retreat back down the corridor - hopefully before he noticed that I
was there.

So, I may have to take the brunt of Greedo's ragings at the "uncaring
ministrations and cruelty of certain aspects of fate", and how "The
Mighty" should be exempt from such, but YOU don't. So avoid him as
much as possible for the next few days. If you must have any contact
with him, make it brief, to the point, and exit as quickly as
possible.
