Mission 3.05 - This week's mission is called "Capture Gunboats"

General Greedo is a wealth of information that he shares only on a 
"need to know" basis.  The existence of the Imperial Com Relay Station 
we are about to attack, was an item that we didn't need to know until 
now - but I digress.

To continue our search for information on the "Star Hammer" we are 
going to have to plant some undercover agents onto the Vanguard.  We 
know the area it haunts because of the information we received before 
they found and destroyed Flame's homing device.  We have sent unmarked 
Shuttles through the area to verify the Vanguard's location, and will 
occasionally continue to do so.

To plant our agents, the General needs a single Gunboat - therefore, we 
are going to acquire at least two for him, just to make certain that 
fulfill the requirements for his strategy.

The Gunboats are located at a Com Relay Station - the coordinates are 
being fed into your computers at this time.  We know that the Station 
is guarded by Mines, Gunboats, and Assassin Class Corvettes.  We are 
not sure what StarFighters the Corvettes are carrying, but be prepared 
for the worst.

You will be flying an X-Wing in Flight Group 1, and will be followed 
in by Grey Flight Group 2 in A-Wings.  Flights 1 and 2 are to clear the 
Starfighter defense in preparation for the Cadet Flight which will be 
in B-Wings.  The Cadet Flight will enter the area two minutes after you 
do, and is to disable the Gunboats.  Flight 2 will try to keep any of 
the more serious threats to the mission occupied.

Your mission is much more complicated, as you are required to operate 
as an extention of the entire team.  You will, also, have to manage all 
the Allied Starfighters as a unit.  Here is a description of what you 
are expected to accomplish:
First, you have to clear enemy Starfighters, and ensure the safety of 
the Cadets.
Second, you must ensure that the Cadets have the chance to disable the 
Gunboats.  This will require you to act as "bait" for the Gunboats so 
that the Cadets can slip in behind them and do their job.  Keep in 
mind that the Cadets will be using ions only, and that you may want to 
"soften the Gunboats up" by bringing down their shields.  Be extremely 
careful, because there is little room for error - at least two Gunboats 
must be captured.
Third, you must ensure that your wingmen don't inadvertantly destroy 
the disabled Gunboats, because they will be trying to bring down their 
shields too.
Fourth, you must cover all evidence of our taking the Gunboats by 
completely destroying the entire relay station - the Mines, the ComSat, 
the NavBuoy, the Corvettes, and all other station guarding craft - but 
NOT the Gunboats.

After Shock Group boards the disabled Gunboats, they will program them 
to circle until the Odin comes to collect them.  Once a Gunboat has 
been captured, ignore it.

Good luck, Gentlemen - this mission will NOT be easy.
